The new Carnival Dream is shown in port in Dubrovnik, Croatia, Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009. The 1,004-foot-long cruise ship is the longest ever built for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines and can accommodate 3,646 passengers. It was built by an Italian shipyard at a cost of 560 million Euros. Following a series of European cruises, the Dream is to arrive in New York City Nov. 12 for inaugural activities and is to subsequently base from Port Canaveral, Fla., beginning Dec. 3 for year-round Caribbean cruising.
