FORT WALTON BEACH, FLA. (Feb. 2, 2010) — It was indeed a happy Groundhog Day for Chelsea B. of Ocala, Fla., when she won the latest ResortQuest Vacation Treasure Hunt contest held Tuesday, Feb 2. She’s glad Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today because she won a five-night ski vacation for $1 a day at the gold-rated Resort Plaza in Park City, Utah — a prize valued at $5,000.

Chelsea entered the contest while at work at her job as a customer-service representative for a nationwide nonprofit, but, she said, “My boss was very happy for me when I won.”

She had tried her hand at the two previous treasure hunts, without success, but was thrilled at the prospect of going skiing in Park City: “I’ve gone on two 10-day trips to Breckenridge, and I took to skiing like a duck to water,” said Chelsea. “I think I was born in the wrong state because I was born and raised in Florida, but I love to ski.”

Tuesday’s contest was the third of 11 weekly promotions, each featuring a different ResortQuest vacation rental property — a condo, vacation home or hotel suite — at a ski destination in Aspen, Breckenridge/Keystone or Steamboat, Colo.; Park City, Utah, or Sun Valley, Idaho.

Resort Plaza #5012 is a three-bedroom, three-bath condo in the heart of Park City Mountain Resort that has earned ResortQuest’s gold rating for its modern furnishings, top-quality amenities and designer touches. Upscale appointments include armoires, leather armchairs and a fully equipped kitchen.

Resort Plaza is a ski-in/ski-out property in Park City’s main ski village base area. A chairlift and open-air ice skating rink are located directly across the plaza. Guests have access to an indoor/outdoor pool, two hot tubs, fitness room and dry sauna at the neighboring Lodge at Mountain Village.

The Treasure Hunt is held every week until March 30. The next contest — featuring a five-night stay March 6-11 — starts Tuesday, Feb. 9, at noon EST.

To participate, treasure hunters navigate through ResortQuest’s ski-destination Web sites to locate a hidden treasure map icon. The treasure map reveals the toll-free number and promotion code needed to call and claim the prize. The Web site offers clues to help treasure hunters find the location of the map. New clues are continually added until someone finds the map and calls to claim the treasure.
