SUGARLOAF KEY, Florida Keys — World-class musicians including Richie Supa, best known for his work with Aerosmith, are to headline the fourth annual 12 Step Music Fest, an entertainment-filled camping weekend in the Lower Florida Keys for members of 12-step recovery programs as well as individuals and families looking for a safe, sober music experience.

“Headliners” at the festival, set for Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 3-6, include support and fellowship for people in 12-step programs and performances by acclaimed recovering musicians. The event is to be staged at the beachfront Sugarloaf Key KOA Campground, mile marker 20, with the entire campground open only to music fest attendees.

The event is produced by No Matter What Productions Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and is described by organizers as a mini-Woodstock, but without drugs or alcohol.

The festival is to feature “The Super Group” of recovering musicians including Supa, guitarist Ricky Byrd, formerly with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kasim Sulton of Utopia and Todd Rundgren fame, Liberty DeVitto, who was Billy Joel’s drummer for decades, and more.

The lineup also includes award-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist Mike Zito and renowned comedian Mark Lundholm.

Other attractions include nonstop musical performances on two stages, a fun-filled talent and karaoke show for festival attendees, in-the-water 12-step fellowship meetings with participants floating on rafts and pool noodles, numerous activity options, a children’s tent and vendors offering food and recovery merchandise.

Alcohol, drugs and gambling of any kind are prohibited during the event.

Attendees can purchase three- or four-day tickets that include general tent camping, or single-day tickets. There is an additional charge for RV sites or reserved camping that includes power and water. Space is limited, so participants are encouraged to purchase festival tickets and arrange campsites as soon as possible.
