KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Chad Brown of Traverse City, Michigan, released 137.75 inches of barracuda to win the spin division of the 2016 Cuda Bowl Tournament that ended Feb. 6 in Key West.

Guided by Derek DeYoung of Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan, Brown earned the title of divisional grand champion.

Nathaniel Linville of Key West won the Cuda Bowl’s fly division championship for the fourth consecutive year, releasing barracuda totaling 122.25 inches. He was guided by Captain John Benvenuto, also of Key West.

Linville’s catches included the fly division’s largest individual barracuda, measuring 45.25 inches.

Ted Margo of Fort Worth, Texas, caught the largest barracuda in the spin division. He released the 51.5-inch fish while guided by Captain John O’Hearn of Big Pine Key, Florida.

Margo also was named the first runner-up angler in the spin division for releasing fish totaling 132.5 inches.

Will Beggs of Hayesville, North Carolina, earned the title of first runner-up in the fly division, releasing 61 inches of barraduca. His guide was Captain Zach Stells of Big Pine Key.

Top female angler was Heidi Andrews of Jackson, Wyoming, who released barracuda totaling 99 inches. She fished with Captain Chris Trosset of Key West.

Placing behind Andrews and named first runner-up female angler was Lacey Kelly of Chiefland, Florida, who scored releases totaling 84 inches of barracuda. She fished with Captain Jared Cyr of Key West.

While the annual tournament typically features two fishing days, high winds forced the cancellation of the first day. The flats challenge drew 61 anglers fishing on 38 boats.
