We recently assisted with an event for Carnival Cruise Lines, which hosted Florida Gov. Rick Scott on one of his “workdays” where he performs a job a Floridian does. On Nov. 4, Scott served as a greeter in the cruise terminal and a DJ on board Carnival Imagination.

Our agency’s own Andy Newman shot still photos and video of “Goody,” a 105-pound loggerhead sea turtle that was released off Islamorada Sunday, July 10, after convalescing at the Florida Keys-based Turtle Hospital for about six weeks.

You know you’re at the right Florida Keys wedding reception when all of the sudden Jimmy Buffett walks on stage and belts out three songs. Saturday night, March 19, following the wedding ceremony of former NewmanPR Lower Keys/Key West stringer Rita Brown to Lower Keys dentist Dr. Fred Troxel, Buffett sang three songs including a customized version of “Margaritaville” tailored to the bride and groom. Buffett said it was the first time he had played for any audience since a fall off a Sydney, Australia, stage in late January. Buffett, a longtime friend of the bride and groom, was an invited guest, but his performance was a surprise to all. Andy Newman shot these photos.

At a luncheon Tuesday, Jan. 25 to celebrate 30 years of Stuart Newman Associates representing the Florida Keys Tourism Council, Howard Livingston performed a song he composed for the occasion: “Livin’ on PR Time.” The event was held at Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada, and was attended by more than 60 friends, family, TDC staffers and current and former TDC members and officers.
