BIG PINE KEY, Florida Keys — Reggae legends Pato Banton and Calton Coffie are to showcase their world-renowned rhythms for Florida Keys audiences during the third annual Lower Keys Reggae Fest, scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 2.

The festival presents the sounds of the islands set against Gulf of Mexico waters at Sugarloaf Lodge, mile marker (MM) 17 gulfside on Sugarloaf Key.

Pato Banton is widely acclaimed for his unique and charismatic performances blending masterful reggae, upbeat messages and insightful commentary. A Grammy-nominated artist with multiple top-selling recordings to his credit, Banton has toured with such stellar talents as Sting and Ziggy Marley.

Calton Coffie is the co-writer and lead vocalist of the Grammy Award–winning reggae album “Bad Boys” and lead vocalist on numerous gold- and platinum-selling albums and singles worldwide.  His music also can be heard in film and television hits including “Bad Boys,” “Cops” and “Minority Report.”

Also appearing on the entertainment lineup are Bongo D and Marijah.

As well as exceptional music, festival attendees can enjoy attractions including food and libations. In addition, vendors are to be on hand offering crafts and island items.

A vivid Florida Keys sunset over the water is to signal the festival’s close.

Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25 per person at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.keystix.com or at the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce visitor center, MM 31 oceanside on Big Pine Key.
